Leann Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian engaged in an over the top display of affection at his son Mason's soccer game today... just yards from his ex-wife, Brandi Glanville.

The star of the 39-year-old Real Housewife of Beverly Hills had to look on as Leann, 29 , indulged in affectionate horseplay with Cibrian, and larked around with her two boys.

The two had a bitter divorce battle which still rages on over custody issues.


Brandi sat with her back to Leann for the entire game, the two never exchanged a single word and an tension was palpable between them according to sources.

Curiously Eddie seemed to have left his wedding ring at home, but there was no doubting the smoulder between himself and his wife, who refers to herself as 'a bonus mom.'

The singer has recently gushed that she has the perfect life now that she's a wife and stepmother, having learned from the errors she's made in the past.

'I've learned from my mistakes and have a great life,' she told The Boot of her husband and stepsons Mason, 8, and Jake, 4.

Loyalty: But for the most part, Jake stuck close to his mother, who kept her back turned to Leann throughout the game


She and Eddie, 38, met and fell in love while shooting the made-for-TV movie Northern Lights; they were married to partners Dean Sheremet and Brandi Glanville at the time

She also told Nashville's Tennessean that she doesn't want the boys to grow up with a negative view of her.

'I don't want to talk negatively about anyone at all. It's not in my nature. And I don't want the boys to see me ever speaking badly about anyone in their family.'

'It's hard not to go, 'Here's the truth', but then it's someone's word against my word and people will be split, it will be a big drama, and I don't want that.'

She explained of her new life as a stepmother: 'It's not like we just have them on the weekends.

'I do homework and make lunches and I do normal things you would do as a mum and I enjoy it, that normal life that I've never had as a wife or as a mum.'

'I never really knew if I wanted kids or not, because I was so business-focused and now I have two that aren't my blood, but really at the end of the day.

'I love watching them grow and learn, and I love to be a part of teaching them that.'

Her career seems to be going as well as her home life, having recently released album Lady and Gentlemen, and is hard at work on her next CD of country classics.

She's shooting for a summer 2012 release date, and has already completed five tracks.
