Halle Berry has proven that she is willing to give up everything for her daughter - and even pulled out of a movie recently when custody of her toddler was threatened.

And the actress is happy to spend every moment with her adorable three-year-old, Nahla, even making a trip to the grocery store fun.

The Oscar-winner held her little girl's hand tightly as they exited Bristol Farms in Beverly Hills yesterday and walked towards their car.


Nahla is growing up fast and appears to have had a growth spurt recently - she turned three just last week.

Her beautiful brown curls fell loosely around her face and she looked trendy in black leggings, a patterned top and black boots. She had a grey cardigan wrapped around her to keep warm.

Halle also strapped on some black boots for the shopping expedition and wore simple black jeans and a black sweater while carrying the groceries in one hand and holding Nahla tightly in the other.

At the NAACP Image Awards earlier this month, Halle said about her daughter.

'I hope she's proud of me. I'm sure she won't like everything I've done, but I hope she will appreciate that I dared to be myself and always did what I believed in. I hope those are qualities that I pass on to her.'

But showing that she has not lost her sense of humour over her tumultuous relationships with the opposite sex, Halle said recently she should have made better choices.

'If I would've jsut married Muhammad [Ali], I wouldn't have had any of these man problems I've had', she said at this year's Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night XVII in Phoenix, Arizona, adding: 'Stupid girl!'

She said that she looked up to the boxing champion and he gave her a sense of pride growing up without her father around.

'Muhammad was someone that I always looked to and held as an image and a model of a man that I hoped one day to find. And I'm still looking for that guy', she said.

It is unclear how her boyfriend Olivier Martinez will feel about those comments.

She met the French actor while they both filmed Dark Tide in South Africa last year and have been seen looking very loved up in various cities around the world over the past few months.

Halle has been married twice before to baseball player David Justice and musician Eric Benet - both ended in divorce.

Halle filmed her latest movie New Year’s Eve earlier this month in New York.

The actress originally pulled out of the film's lead role because she was embroiled in a court case with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry but later signed back on to the film in a smaller role.

Katherine Heigl stepped into her shoes in the more prominent casting.

Halle won her court bid to take her daughter with her on location and while she was filming her scenes in Queens, Gabriel took their daughter Nahla on a tour of the city.

The film also stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Bon Jovi, Sofia Vergara, Zac Efron, Hilary Swank and Josh Duhamel.
